Important information: New Housing Register

The Trent & Dove Housing Register closed on Tuesday 1 September 2026. East Staffordshire Borough Council (ESBC) has introduced a new Housing Allocations Policy and now manages the register and all applications and re-registration.

If you have received a letter inviting you to re-register, please complete an application to the Council at your earliest convenience. New applicants will need to apply to the Council.

To apply to the new Housing Register, click here . Find a Home is a Choice Based Lettings service that Trent & Dove is part of. It advertises homes to rent in East Staffordshire. You can use this service to search for available homes and place bids on properties you’re interested in.

You can use filters to help you find homes that meet your needs, such as:

• Number of bedrooms
• Rent amount
• Property type

If you don’t use filters, all available properties will be shown.

Each property includes helpful icons to give you key information at a glance. Hover over the icons to see what they mean.

If you find a property you’re interested in:

1. Open the property details
2. Select “I’m interested”

You may be asked to provide more information before placing your bid. Please complete all requested details as fully as possible.

The easiest way to bid is through your Trent & Dove customer portal account (use the login link in the top-right of the page).

If you don’t have an account, you can still bid using your bidding number.

If you’re successfully matched to a property, a Lettings Officer will contact you. If we can’t reach you, or you do not respond, the property may be offered to another applicant.
